MUSCAT, 01 February 2015 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in association with leading global insurance company American International Group (AIG), is hosting a conference on 'Global Thinkers – Paving Strategies in Economic Uncertainties' at the bank's head office on 5 February.
The conference to be attended by dignitaries, senior government officials and corporate executives will focus on factors dragging global economic growth, and discuss measures for encouraging investment, entrepreneurship and diversification in a commodity-based economy.
The conference highlighting emerging trends in global and regional economies in 2015 will be addressed by economic experts from the Ministry of Finance, State General Reserve Fund, Oman Investment Fund, Emerging Markets Intelligence & Research, Manaar Energy Consulting, MENA Programme – Chatham House, Bank Muscat and AIG, who will share their insights on the state of world and regional economies and financial markets.
The conference is aimed at facilitating yet another opportunity to equip valuable stakeholders with the necessary insights into the trends on global and regional economies and financial markets. The past few years have been the most challenging period for banks and corporates worldwide. No one has been spared from the effects of the downturn in the global and regional economies stemming from various factors, including the fluctuating oil prices. In this context, the conference assumes importance in turning the spotlight on prevailing economic challenges and opportunities.
