MUSCAT, 8 October 2016 - Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its 'Let's Do More' vision and commitment to innovation in banking service excellence, has stepped up the distribution of Chip and PIN debit cards to customers across the Sultanate.
Adding convenience for customers to exchange the old debit card with the Chip and PIN card, select branches across the Sultanate are open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays, and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Customers can visit these branches at their convenience to collect the new card.
The branches offering the extended working hours to facilitate exchange of debit cards are: Falaj Al Qabail, Sur Al Afiyah, Safalat Ibra, Buraimi, Ibri Jubail, Firq, Ruwi, Al Amerat, Opera Galleria, City Center, Seeb, Al Khoudh, Al Khuwair, Sohar Main, Barka Main, Salalah Industrial, Thumrait and Haima. The Service Centers in Ruwi, Ghala Indistrial, Maabela Industrial, Oman Avenues Mall, Salalah Industrial and Sohar Port are also open during the above timings to help customers replace the old debit cards.
The initiative heralding the future cards in Oman is in line with the Omani government's ambitious eGovernment project. The new Chip and PIN debit cards are being distributed in all branches across the Sultanate as the current debit cards will be blocked and discontinued soon.

Using the Chip and PIN card, customers can shop on the Internet with confidence as the card is protected with the additional Verified by Visa (VbV) security. Customers also receive alerts on mobile phones for transactions made using the card. Cardholders can avail this service by registering their mobile number with the bank. The services available for cardholders include 24-hour Call Centre support, convenience of phone banking and Internet banking 24x7.
