Bank Muscat fetes RO 1 million al Mazyona jackpot prize winner

MUSCAT, 27 January 2013 – Excitement gripped Bank Muscat's Al Jubail branch in Ibri which marked a grand celebration for 70-year-old Nasser Ali Rabiyah al Hinai, who won the RO 1 million al Mazyona jackpot prize of the 2012 scheme. Said Al Zaabi, Regional Manager - Dhahirah and Musandam governorates, presented the prize cheque to Al Hinai. Bank Muscat was the first bank in the Sultanate to conduct the RO 1 million prize draw and announce the winner.

The jackpot prize has literally lit up the vision impaired life of Al Hinai. He intends to utilise a part of the prize money to avail medical treatment in Germany to rectify his vision. He also plans to construct a building which will yield rental income and donate to family members who are in financial needs and retain the remaining amount in al Mazyona savings account.

Al Hinai, a retired employee with a family of seven children, commented on the life-changing experience: “I am delighted to win this big prize from Bank Muscat. This is an incredible scheme reflecting the dreams and ambitions of people. I always dreamt of winning a prize and it has totally changed not only my life but also the future of my family."

Al Hinai has been banking with Bank Muscat for several years and he benefited from the 'loyalty bonus' and his chances got multiplied, thereby giving him an advantage to win the RO 1 million grand prize.

Al Hinai is familiar with Bank Muscat products and services and personally recommends Bank Muscat to friends and relatives because of the many value-added services provided by the bank. “I am very happy with the banking facilities and the helpful and courteous approach by the staff."

Said Al Zaabi said: “We congratulate Al Hinai for winning the al Mazyona jackpot prize. He represents the experienced generation aware of the responsibilities to maintain prudent savings habits. Customers banking with Bank Muscat in all parts of the country are rewarded with attractive prizes and personalised services."

Al Zaabi added: “Bank Muscat recently conducted a country-wide market research on savings schemes to gather feedback from customers on their preferences and needs. In line with the market research results, the 2013 al Mazyona scheme offers a prize basket of RO 7 million to be shared by guaranteed winners from all governorates. The prizes range from RO 1000 a week to RO 100,000 at the end of the year, besides RO 10,000 monthly and RO 50,000 quarterly prizes for winners from all governorates. As on date, the scheme offers the biggest prize money in Oman and the region."

The series of big prizes from Bank Muscat is the major attraction of al Mazyona which offers fair and transparent winning chances for all segments of customers. al Mazyona reaffirms the bank's vision and constant efforts to fulfill the aspirations and ambitions of the largest banking family in Oman. The flagship savings scheme has won the hearts of people and succeeded in linking to issues benefitting society. The bank attaches great importance to inculcating prudent savings and spending habits and has tailored al Mazyona scheme with this objective in mind.

A continuing attraction is that the winning chances get multiplied by the number of years customers are associated with al Mazyona savings scheme. For example, if  a customer has been saving for 5 years, his chances of winning get multiplied by 5 times and similarly if he has been maintaining al Mazyona savings account  for 20 years, his chances get multiplied 20 times and so on. This benefit is unique only to al Mazyona savings scheme holders and no other bank offers this, as on date.

Bank Muscat understands customer expectations and during the past 21 years, the flagship savings scheme has rewarded numerous customers and enriched their lives. Big prize money is not the only way by which al Mazyona seeks to transform the lives of prudent savers. The scheme is targeted to accommodate all segments, including ladies, youth and children, thereby inculcating the savings habit among citizens who will be responsible for the future development of Oman. The underlying principle of the scheme is that the greater the deposit balance, the higher the chance of rewards. Customers can win more by saving more with Bank Muscat.

al Mazyona scheme continues to reflect innovative customer segmentation based on two principles - region and demographics – ensuring a higher winning chance to all customers across the Sultanate, including ladies, youth and children. The 2013 al Mazyona scheme offers exciting weekly, monthly, quarterly and grand prizes. Winning with al Mazyona has never been simpler as customers are not required to block their money for long or wait for a long time to win the big prize.

In order to maintain the tradition of providing complete transparency of the scheme, al Mazyona prize draws will be fully tested and certified by Price Waterhouse Coopers – one of the globally reputed auditing and consulting firms. Bank Muscat pioneered this proactive step and is proud to continue this tradition in Oman which communicates good governance and transparency.

al Mazyona customers have plenty of reasons to smile throughout the year, thanks to the scheme that offers winning chances for customers in all regions. The objective of al Mazyona is to create a lifetime change for winners and allow them to invest their prize money in things that will make a lasting difference and the well-being of their families.
