MUSCAT, 27 October 2014 – Coinciding with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month marked across the world in October and the Omani Women's Day, Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in association with Oman Cancer Association (OCA), organised a 2-day breast cancer awareness campaign at the head office. The opening ceremony of the campaign was attended by Hon. Ms. Yuthar bint Mohamed Al Rawahi, Chairperson and Founder, Oman Cancer Association (OCA), Dr Wahid Al Kharousi from OCA and senior bank officials.
The campaign organized by the bank's HSE department came as part of responsibility to spread awareness on good health. The programme included breast cancer awareness lectures, Q&A sessions and screening facility for clinical examination at the mobile mammography unit (MMU) stationed by OCA at the bank's head office. Over 46 per cent of the bank's employees comprise women who availed the opportunity to familiarize themselves with measures for early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Bank Muscat is also supporting the 11th Annual Walkathon to be held today (Tuesday, 28 October 2014) to raise awareness on cancer. The support for the walkathon reflects the bank's commitment to encouraging health, social interaction and integration through activities linked to healthy lifestyle.
