Bank Muscat will make HM Cup final truly memorable

MUSCAT, 20 May 2015 – Bank Muscat, the presenting partner of His Majesty's Cup, as part of its commitment to promoting the development of youth and the national game of football, is all set to make the final match of Oman's prestigious football championship a memorable experience for all in Oman. A royal battle is on cards as His Majesty's Football Cup final will be played between Sur Club and Al Arouba Club on Friday 22 May 2015, at 7:15 pm, in Sur Sports Complex under the patronage of H.E Nasr bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Kindy, Secretary-General at the Royal Court Affairs.

AbdulRazak Ali Issa, Chief Executive, along with senior bank officials will witness the exciting finals of HM Football Cup. The bank's lead support as the presenting partner of His Majesty's Cup has elevated the championship to a new level of excitement. Besides the lead support as the presenting partner of His Majesty's Cup, the bank will present the 'Man of the Match' award. Aimed at rewarding football enthusiasts, attractive prizes will also be presented to fans participating in competitions to be held in the stadium before the match.

In keeping with the passion for football in Oman, Bank Muscat seizes every opportunity to promote the national game. Bank Muscat is a major supporter of the national football team in international tournaments. During the previous editions of Gulf Cup, Bank Muscat led by example being the first private sector institution to announce cash prizes for the national team. The bank was also the first private sector institution to announce financial support to both the Oman national teams playing in the Asian qualifier for 2012 Olympics in London and 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

Central to the bank's corporate social responsibility is the Green Sports initiative launched to promote Oman as a sporting nation in general and the national game of football in particular. The Green Sports initiative was launched by the bank in 2012 to lay the foundation at the grass-root level for a sustainable sports infrastructure. In a record time, the bank has achieved notable success in developing green fields in all parts of the Sultanate, thus contributing to realising the sporting dreams of clubs and teams. Till date in the first three years of the programme, 34 sports clubs have been given support to green their playing fields. The bank remains committed to supporting all deserving clubs and teams to green their playing fields.
