Bank Muscat Tadhamun initiative supports hearing impaired children

MUSCAT, 05 June 2016 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, as part of its Tadhamun corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative coinciding with the Holy Month of Ramadhan, presented hearing aids to children with hearing disabilities. The ceremony hosted by the Omani Society for the Hearing Impaired marked the Arab Deaf Week under the auspices of Dr. Salim bin Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of the Information Technology Authority.

The Tadhamun programme underscores the bank's commitment to complement the government's efforts in social responsibility and thereby strengthen the hands of needy segments in society. The bank seizes every available opportunity to channel resources for creating sustainable, positive changes in communities by investing in their welfare to equip them for a better life.

Ahmed Al Barami, DGM – Chairman's Office, said: “In line with the 'Let's Do More' vision, Bank Muscat is committed to supporting people with special needs to equip them to join mainstream society. The support to hearing impaired children is yet another affirmation that Bank Muscat is a true partner in nation-building. Children in the age group of 1 - 4 were selected as beneficiaries due to the positive impact of early treatment of hearing disabilities. Leading by example, the bank also aims to motivate other corporates to support physically challenged people in the country."

Sultan bin Nasser Al Amri, President of the Omani Society for the Hearing Impaired, thanked Bank Muscat for the support extended to children with hearing disabilities. “The generous gesture by the bank will go a long way in equipping the children to be successful in life. We are optimistic that the fine example set by the bank will be emulated by other corporates, benefiting needy segments of society," Al Amri said.
