Bank Muscat extends support to honour Oman athletic team

MUSCAT, 30 November 2016 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its 'Let's Do More' vision and 'Imprints' social responsibility initiative, extended support to Oman national athletic team which recorded impressive results in the 5th Asian Beach Games held in Vietnam. Oman took part in four disciplines and won two medals, a gold and a silver, in the event.

The Oman athletic team was recently honoured under the patronage of H.E Eng. Younis bin Yacoub Al Siyabi, President of Oman Athletics Federation, in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair, Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee, and Abdullah bin Salim Al Rahbi, Head - Events and Sponsorship at Bank Muscat. 

As the nation's leading financial institution, Bank Muscat supports participation of Omani youth in national and international sporting events as part of its commitment to partnership in promoting Oman as a sporting nation.

By encouraging sporting activities, the bank seeks to set a fine example of promoting good health and healthy living and thereby motivate others to follow suit and provide the required support vital for developing a sporting nation.

In all major tournaments, Bank Muscat leads by example, being the first private sector institution to announce support for the national teams. As the nation's flagship financial institution, Bank Muscat aims to strongly convey the message of support so as to provide the required impetus for them to excel in sports and games.

Central to the bank's social responsibility programmes is the Green Sports initiative launched in 2012 to promote Oman as a sporting nation. As part of the programme, the bank in a record time has achieved notable success in developing green fields in all parts of the Sultanate. Aimed at raising sporting heroes for the country, the bank remains committed to supporting all deserving teams across the Sultanate to green their playing fields.
