Bank Muscat supports Euromena conference on public administration

MUSCAT, 26 October 2016 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its 'Let's Do More' vision and commitment to promoting public-private partnership in national initiatives, extended support to the Euromena dialogue on public administration, which got under way under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Assad Bin Tareq Al Said, Representative of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.

The joint conference brings together the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA), Aix Marseille University (AMU) and the Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research Network. The 4-day conference is organised by Oman's Institute of Public Administration, Bahrain Institute of Public Administration and Aix Marseille University.

The main focus of the Euromena conference is 'modernisation of human resources management and performance of public organisations' covering training issues, management tools and a new model of human resources management. The Arab-European dialogue is driven by the objective to establish joint co-operation and exchange of expertise and best practices among governmental organisations in European countries and their counterparts in the Arab world.

Bank Muscat hosted the conference participants at a special ceremony organised at the head office. An exhibition of Omani handicrafts was arranged for the visitors as craftsmen made live demonstration of their skills. The opportunity helped the visitors to familiarise themselves with the Sultanate's traditional crafts, heritage and culture.

The bank's support to the conference came in line with its commitment to human resources development strategy. Bank Muscat has the distinction of outstanding leadership at all levels and has achieved 94 per cent Omanisation, giving priority for Omanis to occupy key positions. The bank's human resources strategy is notable in maintaining gender diversity as 48 per cent of employees are women holding various positions, including senior management positions.

Bank Muscat reckons its competent people as key strength and is focused on equipping them to make vital contributions to the bank's growth and success, thereby to the country's progress and development. The bank plays a prominent role in the development of Omani talent and is committed to investing in improving their skills and expertise.

The development of human resources is a priority for the bank which provides relevant educational and training opportunities to employees.
