MUSCAT, 20 December 2015 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with the 'Let's Do More' vision and partnership to promote children's education, extended lead support to Oman International Child Book and Products Fair held at Oman International Exhibition Centre from 16 to 19 December. H.E Dr. Hamoud bin Khalfan Al Harthy, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Education, inaugurated the fair aimed at encouraging children to develop reading and writing skills to sharpen their intellectual capabilities.
Affirming commitment to the education sector, Bank Muscat participated in the fair showcasing savings products targeted at children, youth and higher education. Motivating children to develop a strong savings habit and helping parents to prepare for the future of children, al Mazyona Children's Account offers unique privileges and facilities, including monthly prizes. In 2015, by maintaining a monthly balance of RO 50, al Mazyona Children's account holders received a chance to win 45 prizes of RO 100 each every month.
Shababi savings account encourages youth from an early age to develop a savings habit, thereby making a positive contribution to the development of Oman. In 2015, youth customers who opened a Shababi account with just RO 10 received a chance to win RO 300 every month. In all, 45 winners were rewarded every month in the prize draw for Shababi customers. Shababi account holders were also eligible for other al Mazyona prizes by maintaining a minimum balance of RO 100.
Themaar Education Savings Plan is a financial security on offer from Bank Muscat for higher education. A nominal monthly amount is invested on behalf of the beneficiary i.e. children, which grows into a substantial lump-sum. The scheme offers waiver of future monthly deposits in the event of death of the family's breadwinner (customer who has opened the Themaar Savings plan), while guaranteeing a lump-sum amount to the beneficiary on maturity of the savings plan. The monthly savings is also eligible to participate in al Mazyona prize draws.
