Meethaq's Lecture on 'Work Ethics' well received

MUSCAT, 1 August 2012 – Meethaq's lecture on 'Work ethics' organised at the bank muscat's head office, was well received. 'Meethaq' is the Islamic banking division of bank muscat. This Lecture was part of the bank's series of Ramadan Lectures.

Dr Abdullah Mubarak Al Abri, the speaker, talked in detail about: the importance of work in Islam; employee incentives; working environment and its impact on the employees; the need for employees to have good qualities like honesty etc.; the need for cooperation; how receiving and treating customers politely, reflects the organisation in the proper manner.

Sulaiman al Harthy, Group General Manager, Islamic banking, said, “We wish to thank Dr. Abdullah Mubarak al Abri for highlighting several aspects of work ethics in Islamic banking. A large number of attendees reiterate the fact that such a topic is of great relevance in today's world. We thank the attendees for their presence and support."

The Lecture was a great success; it was interactive and the attendees received satisfactory answers to all their queries.

Meethaq is the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman. Inspired by faith and a tradition of trust, Meethaq will help customers stay true to their values. Meethaq reaches out to customers by offering a full suite of banking products and services that comply with Sharia principles. The bank's Islamic banking operation is segregated from its conventional counterpart and led by its Sharia board, which consists of well-known Shariah scholars. Since Islam is the religion of the Sultanate of Oman as stated in the Basic Law, Oman is ideally placed to play a leading role in Islamic finance. Omani commercial codes are completely supportive to the Islamic banking structure without any conflict.
