MUSCAT, 22 October 2012 – bank muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, is hosting a seminar on the oil and gas sector today (Tuesday, 23 October 2012) at the head office.
The seminar aimed at broadening knowledge of the oil and gas sector, reiterates the bank’s focus to consolidate its leading position whereby the staff will have a thorough understanding of the sector, which serves as the lifeline of Oman’s economy.
Industry experts will share their insight at the seminar divided into four sessions, starting with an introduction to the oil and gas industry. The topics to be covered include concession agreements signed with leading oil and gas companies; aspects relating to exploration and production phase; marketing strategies on how Oman sells its oil and how the country compares on these factors with other oil producing nations, the pricing mechanism of oil products and the role of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in maintaining global demand and supply of oil.
Speakers at the seminar include Majid Al Toky, Partner – Trowers and Hamlins and Chairman of Oman Petroleum Association Services (OPAL); Dr. Ali Al Gheithy, Petroleum Engineering Director at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO); and Ibtisam al Riyami, Corporate Planning Director at Petroleum Development Oman.
