MUSCAT, 01 July 2014 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, joined hands with Red Bull to promote the game of football in Oman. The bank extended support to the 5-a-side tournament played across the country in search for the top 16 football teams to compete in the Red Bull Winning 5.
Most of the exciting matches were played on green grounds developed and handed over to sports teams and clubs as part of the Green Sports initiative launched by the bank to lay the foundation at the grass-root level for a sustainable sports infrastructure. The 16 teams hailing from Salalah, Al Dakhiliyah, Sharqiya, Al Batinah and Muscat competed in the knock-out final in Muscat in which Team Shabab Takiya won the championship.
As the nation's leading financial institution, Bank Muscat aims to strongly convey the message of support to varied sporting activities so as to motivate others to follow suit and provide the required impetus for the country to excel in sports and games.
