MUSCAT, 04 November 2015 – Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, as part of its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnership in sustainable development, launched a unique paper recycling and waste disposal programme at the head office. The launch ceremony of the ‘Let’s Go Green’ environmental protection campaign, coinciding with the Omani Tree Day, was held in the presence of the Management Team members and representatives of the HSE and Facilities Management departments. The new initiative launched in association with Muscat Daily, is aimed at facilitating a secure recycling and disposal process for paper waste.
As part of the ‘Let’s Go Green’ campaign, new ‘secure’ bins have been placed in the bank to dispose paper waste. All paper waste is shredded before being collected by the Muscat Daily paper recycling team.
The ‘Let’s Go Green’ activities launched by Bank Muscat as part of its CSR initiatives are aimed at promoting sustainable development in Oman. The bank strives to raise environmental awareness by bringing about positive behavioural change towards environmental protection through activities such as paper recycling which reduces felling of trees resulting in conservation of forests. The bank accords balanced consideration to environmental, social and economic issues when pursuing development goals benefiting the country and people. The programme highlights that everyone ought to take responsibility for preserving the environment.
