Bank Muscat Tadhamun Initiative Distributes Support to

MUSCAT, 16th July 2013 – The Tadhamun programme launched by Bank Muscat, targeted at beneficiaries from social welfare families across the Sultanate, visited Omani families in Dhakhiliya. The CSR initiative distributed household goods and appliances to beneficiary families in a fine example of the public-private partnership launched by the bank in association with the Ministry of Social Development with the aim of spreading the gift of a better life this Ramadhan.

Amir Al Sawa'i, Fanja branch manager, Bank Muscat, said: " We are proud to launch Tadhamun programme which aims to support Omani families in these blessed days of Ramadhan. The support will continue during the holy month to beneficiaries from social welfare families across the Sultanate who are chosen by Ministry of Social Development". 

Amir Al Sawa'i added: "Tadhamun programme stems from Bank Muscat plans to support CSR initiatives with the aim of encouraging various segments within the society. Bank Muscat supports segments in all provinces across the Sultanate through cooperation with government bodies and NGOs. Over the years the bank has implemented several initiatives benefiting various segments of the society".

Essam Al-Sharji, Head- Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, Bank Muscat said: "These are wonderful moments for us, as we witness the smiles and joy of the beneficiary families who received the Tadhamun support which might seem modest but in fact made a big impact on their lives. It is worth mentioning that Bank Muscat was the first Omani bank to establish a full-fledged CSR department. Through Tadhamun programme, Bank Muscat seeks to contribute to improving the standards of living of underprivileged segments in society and demonstrate its commitment to be the most exemplary corporate citizen in Oman," Considered among core values, the CSR policy stems from the bank's belief in the importance of social responsibility. It reflects the bank's concern and care for various segments of society.  

Khalfan Muftah Al Syiabi from Naf'a in Bidbid, who received Tadhamun support, thanked Bank Muscat for the initiative which he said would ensure a decent living for his family. “The bank's support to weaker segments of society is a big encouragement for us," Al Siyabi said. 

Moza Salim Al-Jaldanyah from Nadab in Samail said the Tadhamun support would make a big difference in improving the living conditions in her home. “I thank Bank Muscat for this gesture which will help my family members enjoy a better Ramadhan this year. I also thank the Ministry of Social Development for their tireless efforts"

The objective of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is to address the household requirements of low-income beneficiaries. In the coming days, the bank will distribute essential appliances, including air-conditioner, refrigerator, deep freezer, cooking range and television to beneficiaries identified by the Ministry of Social Development in different regions.

Bank Muscat has in place a media plan aiming at introducing Tadhamun programme to support Omani Families in association with different media channels. The campaign will shed the light on the initiative and the team's visits.
