The strategy helps us serve domestic communities, diversify our risk exposure, and add significantly to the Bank’s reputation

BankMuscat is by far the largest bank in Oman in all respects. Additionally, we are already present and growing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a branch in Riyadh. We are present in the UAE through a Representative office in Dubai for 12 years. We have a major and strategic stake in our associate bank i.e., Bank Muscat International (BMI) in Bahrain since 2005, and have been a sizeable stakeholder (17.4%) in the Centurion Bank of Punjab (CBoP), India since 2005. Centurion Bank of Punjab is to merge with the HDFC Bank. In March 2008, we have acquired a major (35%) and strategic stake in Saudi Pak Commercial Bank in Pakistan, together with IFC, Nomura and our local management partners.

Our expansion plans are primarily focused on the Middle East. We would like to achieve our international ambitions organically i.e., by opening branches in the new countries and /or strengthening our business base in the presence countries, as well as inorganically i.e., by acquiring majority and/or strategic stakes in the existing financial institutions. We are continuously exploring a selected range of target countries for extending our products and services in order to meet the needs of our new and existing clients.

We are very grateful to our key partners like Central Bank of Oman, CMA, other Government authorities in Oman, the respective Central Banks in our presence countries, our clients and our employees who have extended tremendous level of cooperation to make Bank Muscat a regional player so far.

Our well equipped branch in Riyadh offers a wide range of consumer banking, corporate banking, trade finance and treasury products and services on the non conventional basis under the new brand” BankMuscat Khayrat”. Our best selling products are Murabaha, Tawarruq and trade finance products which are appreciated by our both corporate and consumer banking clients. We are continuously enriching our suite of products and services. The branch also has a separate and fully dedicated ladies section in the Bank’s premises.

The branch management and staff members are keen to represent a fine blend of the Saudi and Omani hospitality and service standards.
