Air Arabia
  About Air Arabia?

Air Arabia is the first and only low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa region, with a vision to be one of the world’s leading budget airlines in terms of profit margin, innovation, reputation and operational excellence. It was established on 3rd February 2003 by an Ameeri decree issued by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates. Based in Sharjah International Airport, Air Arabia customers enjoy the benefits of quick access to Dubai and other Emirates.

  Current destinations where it flies?

Current destination list includes: Alexandria, Assiut, Sharm El Sheikh and Luxor (Egypt); Amman and Aqaba (Jordan); Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan); Bahrain; Beirut (Lebanon); Colombo (Sri Lanka); Aleppo and Damascus (Syria); Doha (Qatar); Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia); Kuwait; Mumbai and Nagpur (India); Muscat (Oman); Khartoum (Sudan) Sana’a (Yemen) and Sharjah (UAE).

What is the tie-up all about?

According to the agreement, customers (both BankMuscat and non-BankMuscat) after booking the ticket through Air Arabia call center, can make the payment for their ticket through any of the 90 branches, Phone banking or Internet banking. Non-BankMuscat customers can pay through any of the branches.

  How it works?

Step by step approach;
The process would entail the following steps in brief:

  • Customers call Air Arabia (AA) Call Center for ticket booking, on 24 700828 (between 8am – 8pm) and make the reservation for the destination of their choice.

  • Once the booking is confirmed, AA Call Center staff would provide the customers the “Reservation No.” and amount due,

  • Customer approaches Bank Muscat to pay the amount to the account of Shanfari Travels.

How can they e-mail or fax ticket?

The ticket is on an A 4 size paper and not the regular ones, which we usually come across (booklet form). The sample of the ticket has been attached hereby. So this ticket can be faxed or e-mailed. If the customer does not have both, then they will courier the same to the customer.

Which are the channels through which the customer can pay for the ticket?

The customer can pay through the following channels:
1. Branch – all 90 branches
2. Internet Banking – All customer with valid IPIN
3. Phone banking – Through IVR, all customer with valid TPIN.

Following are the respective modus operandi of payment through each of the channels:

Payment through the Branches

1 Customers of Air Arabia can visit any of our branches to pay the cost of tickets to the credit of Shanfari Travels account. This facility is not restricted to customers having account with Bank Muscat.
2 Payment can be made in either of the 2 modes i.e. Transfer from their existing account with the Bank or by Cash Deposit.

Payment through the Internet Banking

1 This facility is available to only Bank Muscat customers who are already registered or will register in future for the Internet Banking facility.
2 Air Arabia is defined as part of one of the Utility agencies under the icon “Utility and School Fees” in the Internet Banking services.
3 Customers can set up their own account just like any other Utility company / School fees by entering their customer ID (8 digits appearing on the electron card).
4 On payment the customer would have to input the “Reservation No.” provided by Air Arabia in the bill number column input field for every transaction.

Payment through the Call Center

1 This facility is available only to those Bank Muscat account holders who possess a valid TPIN issued by the Bank for usage of the Call Centre channel.
2 The process of payment of Bills through the Call Center is also the same as for the other Utility / School fees payment services i.e. prior registration is mandatory.
