MUSCAT, 30 May 2010 – BankMuscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has launched a unique Bancassurance product offering insurance coverage for the entire range of household items. In step with smarter strategies aimed at providing a distinct customer service, the Hayatuna Home Contents Plan guarantees protection against any eventuality.
The third in the series of Hayatuna insurance products, the Hayatuna Home Contents Plan is available for as low as RO 3 a month and RO 30 annually for a coverage worth RO 5,000 on items, including electronics, furniture, appliances, books, jewellery and any other personal effects. Coverage worth RO 10,000 is available at RO 5 a month and RO 50 annually.
The Hayatuna Home Contents Plan is an exclusive offering to BankMuscat account holders and does not require listing of home contents at the time of application. The coverage is against fire, cyclone, rainwater damage, landslide, earthquake, accidental damage by falling trees, burglary, storm, tempest and flood (STF), inundation, rockslide, lightning, explosion, riots and strikes.

The coverage for jewellery and valuables under the Hayatuna Home Contents Plan is restricted to 10 per cent of the sum assured. All claims will be honoured on the basis of an inspection of the site of loss to be carried out by the insurance company and an excess amount of RO 25 will be deducted on each claim. A report from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) is mandatory for burglary and valuable loss claims.
