MUSCAT, 8 January 2011 – BankMuscat Hearts, an informal society of BankMuscat employees who conduct voluntary social work, organised its annual blood donation drive at Sohar main branch. The social campaign evoked good response with more than 100 employees, including senior executives, from Batinah North branches participating in the drive held in association with Sohar Blood Bank.

This is the fourth annual blood donation drive organised by BankMuscat Hearts. Over the years the camp has grown in size and stature and this was the first time the campaign being held outside Muscat area.

Shaima Murtadha Al Lawati, Head - Corporate Social Responsibility, said: “Blood is precious as every minute, someone is in need of it. Blood can only be donated by volunteer donors, which makes it all the more precious. There is no substitute for blood donation. BankMuscat Hearts is glad to note that every year, more and more people are joining this noble cause. Blood donation is integral to the CSR activity under BankMuscat Hearts.”
