MUSCAT - BankMuscat Hearts, an informal society of the Bank employees who conduct voluntary social work, is organising a Charity Fair in support of women entrepreneurs tomorrow (Friday) from 5 pm to 10 pm at the football field next to Children’s Museum in Al Qurum.
The event is aimed at promoting home-based businesses of Omani women through sale of wares. Visitors can shop for clothing, food, traditional items, hand-made jewellery, perfumes and much more. Fun activities include games for kids, horse riding, henna, face painting and others. The charity event is in line with the Bank’s commitment to society and all proceeds raised through donations will be utilised for support to women.
This is the first time an initiative of this nature is coming from a private corporate in Oman. The participating women are not charged anything for selling their wares at the fair as the event is targeted at expanding their business reach, offering an ideal networking opportunity.
BankMuscat Hearts focuses mainly on development programmes benefiting women and children, especially those with special needs, the less fortunate and the unwell. It also raises awareness on social and environmental issues.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of BankMuscat is a commitment to contribute towards sustainable development by working closely with local communities with the aim of improving living standards in a manner that serves the national economy and development process at the same time.
The CSR policy seeks to maintain conformity and consistency between the Bank's different economic, social and environmental policies. Equal consideration is accorded to environmental, social and economic issues when pursuing efforts aimed at achieving development and improving living standards.
Considered among core values, the CSR policy stems from the Bank’s strong belief in the importance of social responsibility. It reflects the Bank’s concern and care for various segments of society.
The Bank is of the view that the social responsibility of the private sector is not merely participation in charitable works and organisation of voluntary campaigns, but it encompasses responsibility towards society development, considered the prime mover of national economy. BankMuscat Hearts receives continuous support from the Bank.
