MUSCAT – The appeal of BankMuscat as the ‘Best Place to Work in Oman’ attracted a large turnout of prospective job seekers to its stall at the Career Fair at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). The main objective of the Bank’s participation in the 3-day Career Fair was to highlight the career development and training opportunities available to qualified Omani nationals.
The Bank personnel were on hand to meet the enthusiastic job seekers and interact with them on various career options. Hundreds of youth, especially those graduating this year, submitted CVs, expressing keen desire to work in the Sultanate’s leading financial institution.
A regular participant at the SQU Career Fair, BankMuscat was honoured with a special recognition in appreciation of its sustainable relationship contributing to the success of the job fair.
BankMuscat seizes every opportunity to extend support to Omani nationals seeking career development and training opportunities. During the recent open day of the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), BankMuscat awards were presented to 27 outstanding students. The Bank had financed 84 students who pursued Diploma in Banking at CBFS. As part of an MoU signed between BankMuscat and the Ministry of Manpower, the Bank also financed 21 students who graduated from an accounting training course at the college this year.
BankMuscat’s achievements in the development of human resources have been recognised locally and internationally. The Bank was declared an Investor in People (IiP) organisation in January 2007, becoming the first organisation in the MENA region to be awarded the prestigious global recognition. The IiP standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation's performance through its people.
The prominent accolades won by the Bank include the ‘Best Bank in Oman’ and the ‘Best Place to Work in Oman’ awards in surveys conducted by leading international and regional business magazines. The Bank’s commitment to develop its human capital has also been recognised with the prestigious ‘People Development Award’ at the Oman Awards for Excellence, three years in a row (2003, 2004 and 2005).
