MUSCAT, 1 November 2009 – Coinciding with the 39th National Day celebrations, the Omani Society for Fine Arts (OSFA) and BankMuscat will announce today (Monday, 2 November 2009) a major initiative unveiling a national painting competition. Top officials from the Omani Society for Fine Arts and BankMuscat will be present at the media briefing at Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
Established as a creative forum, the Omani Society for Fine Arts primarily targets to encourage and improve the talents of artists. The society organises educational programmes culminating in annual painting and photography exhibitions, which are highly regarded among the artistic circles of Oman.
Presenting the nation with a unique opportunity for creative engagement, the competition complements BankMuscat's involvement in national events and activities. For nearly three decades, BankMuscat has launched several initiatives benefiting the community and the painting competition is an opportunity exclusively created for the artist community to demonstrate their talents for the national cause.
