Muscat: BankMuscat, the leading financial institution in the Sultanate of Oman, has widened the reach of its easy-to-use Mobile Banking service, offering a host of transactions on finger tips through a common short code available to customers using OmanMobile and Nawras connections.
The initiative marks yet another innovative service from BankMuscat, which over the years has developed services and products that spell convenience. BankMuscat does not levy any charges for this service offered to the largest banking family in Oman, which presently exceeds 700,000 customers.
The Mobile Banking service is expected to attract a large number of customers as it does away with the requirement to visit the Bank or wait in long queues for various transactions. The new facility offers a wide range of options, which can be accessed from anywhere, anytime. Driven by the latest technological features, the Mobile Banking service presents a unique facility from BankMuscat that lets customers bank at convenience.
The Mobile Banking service can be activated by sending a simple keyword to the number 90090. The transactions include viewing account balance, obtaining mini statements and finding out credit card balance. Customers can also use the service to request for blocking ATM cards as well as finding out the latest indicative forex rates.

Notably, a common short code will be applicable to access the service through both telecom service providers operating in the Sultanate. To avail of the Mobile Banking service, all that a customer needs to do is register oneself seamlessly by sending the keyword REG - space - BankMuscat customer number - to 90090 or by applying through any of the BankMuscat branches or through the Call Centre. Registered customers can get the list of available services by sending the keyword HELP to 90090.
