Muscat, 19 January 2009: BankMuscat Hearts, a voluntary social group of BankMuscat employees and their families supporting community activities and charitable causes, adopted a unique prop to cheer the national football team during the matches in the 19th GCC Football Cup championship. BankMuscat Hearts deployed the largest national flag admeasuring 1040 metres, which was held together by the group members, to encourage and cheer the national team to one victory after another and ultimately to the historic win to lift the coveted GCC Cup. The management of BankMuscat, which announced a cash bonanza of RO 250,000 to the national team, is convinced that all national initiatives, including sporting activities, are an integral part of the development support extended by the Bank. The policy stems from BankMuscat’s firm belief that citizens need to experience wholesome development.
