Are vacancies open for all Nationalities?

Based on the Nationalization policies of the country, we have reserved several positions only for Omani Nationals.

Expatriate recruitment is undertaken only for specialized positions where there is a current shortage of skills in the country. 

Who can apply?

 Candidates meeting the specifications of the position can apply as long as they do not have direct relatives working in the Bank. Direct relatives will include father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, spouse, own brothers, own sisters, step sister (from father), step sister (from mother), step brother (from father), step brother (from mother) sons/ daughters and their spouses.  Where age restrictions are not given in the specification, candidates should be at least 18 years of age

Do I need any work experience or a background in Finance?

We welcome resumes from candidates with a variety of degree disciplines. We do not expect graduates to have any prior work experience. It is only one of many factors that will be considered during the application process. We assess you based on your ability to demonstrate talents and skills gained through other life experiences, such as travel, study, research, or involvement in community affairs. 

How long does it take to finalize the recruitment and selection process?

The process of meeting and assessing all short listed candidates will dictate the process duration. Normally we will endeavor to complete the selection process within 4-6 weeks from the closing date, since we consider candidates from different countries.

Will the Bank inform all applicants of the outcome?

All candidates invited will be informed of the outcome of the process regardless of whether they have fulfilled the assessment criteria or not. However, If you have not heard from us within a period of eight weeks from the closing date, please consider that you have not been shortlisted.

Will the Bank bear the cost of travel/accommodation in case candidates are required to travel for an interview?

Travel fare for candidates from outside the Sultanate of Oman will be reimbursed on actuals based on prior agreement with the bank.  . The Bank will arrange accommodation at its cost, should there be a requirement to stay in Muscat. Travel expenses for candidates within Oman will be borne on a case to case basis based on the distance and the difficulty of travel.

What are the steps after the selection?

Potential candidates are contacted to complete their pre-employment joining formalities, including a medical assessment, providing references and agreeing to the terms of employment

How do we obtain an employment visa?

On acceptance of the offer, action is initiated to obtain a labour clearance (for expatriates only), which would take approximately one to two weeks. The Ministry of labour could reject our application so please do not resign from your present employment until we confirm having received the labour clearance.
On obtaining a labour clearance, we would apply for an employment visa, which is expected to take approximately two weeks. The new recruit will have to submit the full copy of his/her  passport, 6 passport sized photographs  and a medical examination report from any of the clinics approved by the Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman to enable us to apply for the visa.

Is there a probationary period for new recruits?

All new recruits are placed on probation for a period of three months from the date of joining.
