|
|
|
BankMuscat Online is a secure means of carrying
out your banking transactions as all communication during your banking session is
encrypted
BankMuscat maintains strict security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized
access to your account information. The bank uses leading technologies such as data
encryption, firewalls and server authentication to protect the security of your
data. All communication during your Internet Banking session is encrypted using
'strong grade' encryption, i.e. SSL 128 bit. Encryption is a process that transforms
sensitive information into a string of unrecognizable characters before they are
sent over the Internet. This keeps information private between the Bank's computer
system and your Internet browser
You will need to input a unique login Password and a Posting Password whenever you
access this service. Your login password and your Posting Password are both personal
to you and help safeguard against your bank details being accessed by anybody else.
The Internet Banking service has timed logouts, which means that Internet Banking
sessions will end after some time of inactivity. This protects you in case you forget
to log-out.
Bank Muscat follows a strict policy of Backup, Storage and Retrieval for all its
systems, which includes Bank Muscat Online

What
do you mean by online banking service?
|
|
|
 The transactions are "Real-Time online".
This means that the BankMuscat Online Banking service is designed in such a way
that it takes your requests and acts on them immediately. The transactions that
will affect are done automatically by the System as soon as you authorize the transaction.
|
|
When
will my transactions affect my account?
|
|
|
Services like funds transfer utility bill
payment are immediately noticeable in your account.. For others services like Demand
Draft request, Cheque book request etc. while the system processes the transaction
immediately, there would be a processing time required to prepare the draft, order
cheque book etc.
Credit card payments are also transacted immediately and debited in the source account
from which the payment is made but updated in the credit card account on the following
day.
All the balances that are displayed to you are as of that instant and would cover
transactions done by you over any of our channels.
|
|
How
will I know that my transaction has been completed?
|
|
|
For funds transfer and payments, the system
indicates the status of each the transactions. In case of a cancelled or pending
transaction, the same is also displayed.
For requests such as demand drafts, cheque book order etc., the system does one
of the following:
Displays the information requested
- Accepts your instruction and displays an appropriate message to the effect.
- Displays an appropriate message on why it cannot complete your transaction or asks
you to try again
|
|
I cannot
read some digits of the password. What should I do?
|
|

by the system, and the only person having access to it is you. We would therefore
request you to apply for regeneration of the password.
