bank muscat CSR Vision

As the leading financial institution in the local market, bank muscat continues to deliver on its commitment to the Omani people by innovating strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. Sustainability is a running theme in all stakeholder engagement initiatives, activities and in potential investment opportunities ensuring lasting positive benefits aimed at strengthening ties with the local community.
In 2016 our activities grew exponentially with the announcement of Imprints, a CSR umbrella that includes an additional nine programmes to the already existing four annual programmes. This has solidified our already strong ties with different entities including the government, local NGO’s, charities and large corporations.

Imprints:
The bank’s most recent and largest initiative was launched in 2016 to address the changing economic climate, and the arising current issues. Imprints, the umbrella under which all Bank Muscat CSR programmes will run seeks to encourage an important and long-standing value, partnership. Each project launched, as mentioned below, has established an alliance with a local organization, government entity or an SME. Imprints is an initiative that has been born out of Bank Muscat but encompasses the nation through its different themes. It also encourages other corporations to stand up together and give back to the Sultanate, as the country has done for us in the past 46 years.
Imprints was launched under four different themes including Financial Literacy, Tourism Business Start-ups, Saving Energy and  Green Space. The concurrent theme looks into diversifying the economy and cultivating the community’s knowledge of personal finance and spending habits.
Below you will find information pertaining to the bank’s CSR programmes.

Green Sports:
Passion is a word that rings true when associating the Omani people with football. As a result bank muscat has succeeded in creating and implementing an annual programme that brings together different generations on one platform towards one goal, sports. The success of the programme reverberates across the Sultanate with 63 teams belonging to Green Sports, 23 of which have been inaugurated.
Launched in 2012, the programme goes from strength to strength, engaging with stakeholders and affording the local youth an opportunity to develop their skills striving for an otherwise distant dream. The football fields also mark an important location in which the community as a whole come together for different activities ensuring a tight knit relationship between the different members.
Green Sports provides local football teams with support to choose from one of four options including, natural or artificial greening, desalination machines or floodlights. Requirements include that the team are able to ensure proper maintenance of the field, income statements and a proper team structure that includes board members and team members.

Over 250 students have benefitted from programme by receiving education in different forms including vocational training and an opportunity to attain their diplomas or bachelor degrees.
A partnership was established with the Ministry of Higher Education in 2014, to ensure alignment in the bank and the country’s vision. The bank seeks to invest in students from underprivileged backgrounds or from families on social welfare providing them with a chance to grow and develop.
