Sheikh AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BankMuscat “SAOG” and Chairman of the Board's Audit Committee since 6 January 2001.

Sheikh AbdulMalik obtained a Bachelor's Degree of Arts - Business Administration -University of Central Florida, USA in 1986. He worked with the Diwan of the Royal Court from 1988 until 2008, holding several positions, including Director of the Department of Studies and Statistics at the Office of the Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court (1994-1995), and Assistant Secretary General for General Affairs at the Office of the Minister (1995-1997). Additionally, he served as the Executive President of the Pension Fund of the Diwan of the Royal Court and as Member and Secretary for the Board of Directors of the Fund (1998-2008).

Besides being the Chairman of the Bank's Board of Directors, Sheikh AbdulMalik also holds the following positions:

v     Chairman of the Board of Directors of BMI Bank (Kingdom of Bahrain)

v     Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rasmala Oman Company (SAOC)

v     Member of the Advisory Board of Rasmala Investment Holding Limited (Emirate of Dubai-United Arab Emirates)

v     Member of the Advisory Council of the Union of Arab Bankers

Participation in International and Regional Conferences

Sheikh AbdulMalik has regularly participated in various regional and international conferences and forums, including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Union of Arab Bankers, International Union of Arab Bankers, the Davos Forum and many others.

During his tenure as Chairman, the Bank has been deservedly awarded advanced credit ratings from specialised international rating agencies besides winning a number of awards, certificates of appreciation and recognition internationally, regionally and domestically.
