OMAN-INDIA FERTILIZER
COMPANY
The project is a Government-to-Government joint
venture between India and Oman and is located near
Sur on the coast of Oman, 200 km south of Muscat
and close to the Oman LNG site. The sponsors are
Oman Oil Co. (50%), (wholly-owned by Government of
Oman), Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative
Limited (25 %) and Krishak Bharati Cooperative
Limited (25%) (both Indian cooperative societies).
The project will produce approximately 1.65
million metric tonnes of urea annually in addition
to 250,000 tonnes of ammonia. BankMuscat is the
Onshore Security Agent and Onshore Account Bank.
The Bank is also one of the Lead Arrangers to this
project.
OASIS LNG CARRIERS
The Government of the Sultanate of Oman, Mitsui
O.S.K. Lines Ltd. and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. have
established Oasis LNG Carriers, to Build, Own and
Charter a special purpose LNG vessel (145,000
million) to effectively transport LNG produced at
Oman LNG. Sumitomo Banking Corporation, Credit
Lyonnis and BankMuscat underwrote the entire
commercial loan of US $ 52 million.
AIRCRAFT FINANCING
Oman Aviation, the national carrier, has acquired
two Boeing aircraft and spares. BankMuscat lead
arranged the $ 80 million facility along with Arab
Bank and Oman Arab Bank.
SAHARA HOSPITALITY
PROJECT
This Petroleum Development Oman Project for
Permanent Accommodation for Contractors (PAC) is
for the construction and development of facilities
for contractors in Fahud and Nimr in central Oman.
The project is on Build, Own and Operate (BOO)
basis and has accommodation, recreation and food
facilities for PDO contractors and personnel
working at PDO sites in Nimr and Fahud. BankMuscat
acted as Financial Adviser, provided all the debt
(approx. US $ 19 million) and advised on the
equity IPO for this project to provide
accommodation for contractors at the oil drilling
sites of PDO.
