Welcome to basma, Oman’s first Chip-based
rewards program. The basma rewards program is
brought to you by bank muscat and Oman Oil
Marketing Company (Omanoil), in association with
Nawras Telecom and Lulu Hypermarket.
With infinite choice, instant rewards and the
flexibility to spend your accumulated points at
any time in the participating outlets, basma is
the most convenient rewards program. No hassles,
no delays.
You can earn basma reward points every time you
make a purchase at Omanoil filling stations,
Lulu Hypermarkets and other participating
outlets irrespective of the mode of payment –
cash or card. However, if you choose to make
payment with your bank muscat credit card, you
will earn additional reward points from
bank muscat over and above the points issued by
the participating merchants.
The process for accumulation of reward points is
very easy. All you have to do is present your
basmaCard to the cashier when you are making a
purchase at a participating outlet. The cashier
will enter the card into the Point of Sale (POS)
terminal that will calculate the number of
reward points and store the same on the chip on
the card. You will also get a printed slip
confirming the number of points earned and
loaded on the chip.
You can earn 5 basma points for every One Rial
spent on POS transactions using the bank muscat
Classic or Gold credit card and 10 basma points
for using the bank muscat Platinum or Infinite
credit card. bank muscat points are awarded on a
monthly basis and you can load these points by
visiting any of the partner outlets after the
5th of each month. All you need to do is insert
your basmaCard in the POS terminal and request
for a balance refresh. The bank muscat points are
then downloaded into the chip on your basmaCard
and are available to you for redemption at any
of the basma partner outlets.
As the reward points are stored on the smart
chip in the card, the points can be redeemed
instantly at any participating merchant outlet,
as and when you desire. You can also use the
basma points to make a full or part payment for
the purchase of your choice.
