BankMuscat Launches new ‘Prepaid
Card’
 BankMuscat, in association with the
Royal Oman Police, has launched a
new ‘Prepaid Card’. With the launch
of this card, BankMuscat has now
added a new product to its existing
multi-dimensional portfolio of
products.
The prepaid card, which is on the
Visa Electron platform, can be used
to pay for goods and services at
merchant establishments globally,
withdraw cash from the ATM machines
and make e-payments at all Royal
Oman Police (ROP) directorates. Any
national or resident of Oman, as
well as a tourist visiting the
country, irrespective of whether
he/she has a bank account, can avail
of this facility from any BankMuscat
branch.
In addition to these benefits, the
Prepaid Card can also be used to
check available balances and request
for mini-statements at any ATM
displaying the Oman Switch or GCC
Switch logos. Cards will initially
have to be loaded for a minimum
amount of RO 10/- (plus a card
handling charge of RO 1/-) and can
then be re-loaded across any of the
Bank’s branches and Cash Deposit
Machines nationwide.
