Please
follow the simple Do’s and Don’ts given
below to avoid any dispute/misuse on your
card
Do’s
-
Sign your
new Debit/Credit card, on the back of
your card, as soon as you receive it
from the Bank. Also, destroy your old
Debit/Credit Cards as soon you receive
the new ones.

Keep your
Cards in a place where it is easily
visible to you. You would easily be able
to detect in case your card is
lost/stolen.

Please
immediately inform the Bank of any
change in your contact address and
telephone contact number (s), including
your GSM number.

Be
suspicious of people offering help in
case your card is stuck in an ATM or
people who might be watching you as you
enter the PIN at an ATM. Report the
incident to the Bank’s call centre
immediately

Please
retain BankMuscat Call Centre number
(24795555) and your Card number(s) at
all times to report loss or stolen cards
and for prompt response to all your
queries.

Please keep
your card in sight from the time it is
handed over to the cashier until it is
returned back to you. This would help
prevent unauthorized transactions on
your card.

Take print
out of the order and keep copies of the
retailer's terms and conditions and
goods return policy, whenever completing
any transactions on the internet.
Don’ts
-
Please do not share your PIN with
anyone. The Bank does not ask for
confidential information such as your
Debit/Credit Card PIN number.
-
Never write down your ATM PIN,
especially on the card or in the wallet.
Memorize the PIN and destroy the ATM PIN
document.

Do
not use any ATM which appears to have
been tampered with e.g. external
fittings or loose wiring. Report the
matter to the Bank and use another ATM
-
Avoid transacting on sites which are not
secure and those which do not mandate
requirement of CVV2 value (last 3 digits
on the signature panel at the back of
the card) to minimize the risk of your
card details being compromised

Please do not provide any
personal/financial/credit card related
information on the Internet or respond
to any email seeking such information
from you. In case you receive such
emails, please inform the Bank
immediately.

Do
not give your card number over the
telephone to unknown callers. Only make
telephone transactions when you have
initiated the call and are familiar with
the company
-
If
the retailer sends you written
confirmation of the order, check the
bill to ensure that it is correct. Keep
all such receipts and match them off
against your next statement
